Knowledge, what are you?
You are not under the rule of Satan,
For thou art truth enlightened in a mortal's eyes.
But God must drift over you,
No, He forged you
Through the wars of history,
And the enlightenment and growth of mankind.

When Socrates proclaimed his defense against the masses,
You, God, were there,
Writing on Knowledge like a tablet,
Recording again what You foreknew.
And You then gave Knowledge wings,
Commanded her to hover over the hands of philosophers and historians
And breathed journeys and His gospel through the mouths of pilgrims.

O Knowledge, why must you be so lofty?
I would be happy to have known you sooner
But now, in a time of insecurity and new ideas,
You come to me, Satan behind you, to temp my doubtful heart,
your brazen wings rusted through the veil of sin.

O Knowledge, how despairing must your position be!
You angel, you breath-taking spirit!
Though you drift on the gales of God,
Satan hunts you with his savagely snapping jaws
Like the hydra, he pulls you into his maw
So that man is forced to see you, the devil's prisoner,
Only through the jagged teeth that art thou cage.

Despair not, Knowledge,
God is still here.
If ye man art willing to pry open those toothy bars,
And unveil Knowledge from the fang of society, of tradition,
Of persistent human will, and of ill-birthed imagination,
God will pluck her from the enemy's jaw
And thou shalt see her in God's light.
And thou faith shall be strengthened and renewed
As the troublesome villain sinks back into his shadows.
Errg.

I struggle a lot with this - especially recently. Sometimes, when you learn something (especially when you're reading old religious texts), it seems to contradict God. But, I think the only reason knowledge seems this way is because Satan uses it to distract us. So, I just wanted to remind myself and you that Knowledge is good and created by God. Don't be afraid to ask questions because, even though it seems like your faith is crumpling at the moment, it will become stronger when you've found the answer - your faith strengthened. Because I guarantee you, no matter how much a feather of knowledge seems to disprove God, it actually proves Him, you just gotta dig.

Yep.

To Jesus be the glory, yo

Very, very nice. It is quite a struggle, making sense of things when we only see through a glass darkly. Whenever someone tells you "facts" that seem to speak against God, it's important to consider where the speaker is coming from, and how their own preconceptions color their perception of the truth.

A small criticism: you have "thou" in a few places where it should be "thy." Thou just means you (as subject, not object), thy means your.
